Mike M ANG

Dr Mike Ang is a Consultant Psychiatrist who is the Suicide Prevention Clinical Lead for Counties Manukau Health in South Auckland, New Zealand. He was a key instigator in the development of the Manawa Suicide Safety Plan mobile phone APP which has recently added a caring contacts notification enhancement to the Stanley-Brown Suicide Safety Plan. He is responsible for workforce development for Specialist Mental Health Staff utilising the Safeside Suicide Prevention Orientated Framework and was involved in the development of an Australasian Enhancing Means Safety Module. He is a firm advocate of multi-level interventions across primary and secondary care, across community and health services and across government and non-government agencies to make a difference for individuals, their whanau (family) and their communities. Actioning the Te Whare Tapa Wha Model of Physical health, Mental health, Spiritual and Whanau he tries to practise what he preaches with frequent games of badminton and bridge, and connection with God and Family.
