Marianne Webb

Dr Marianne Webb is a Senior Research Fellow at The University of Melbourne and Orygen specialising in youth suicide prevention. Her work focuses on co-designing innovative, family- and youth-centred approaches that are grounded in lived experience and participatory research. She has led the development of world-first guidelines for involving young people with lived experience in suicide research, as well as digital interventions including Check Up GP and the Better Off With You campaign. Marianne’s research program explores the role of families in youth suicide prevention, including the unmet needs of young people supporting a suicidal family member, and the co-design of resources to strengthen family functioning after a suicidal crisis. With a professional background in national mental health non-profits prior to her PhD, she brings extensive experience in collaboration with lived experience networks, clinicians, policymakers, and community organisations.
