Josie Povey
Josie Povey is a first-generation Australian Senior Research Fellow within the Stay Strong team at Menzies School of Health Research with English and Irish heritage. Josie believes empowering people and communities results in lasting positive change. Josie is a mental health Occupational Therapist who has worked in clinical and research roles around the Northern Territory, including the Tiwi Islands since 2009. Josie supports the Ngawurramangajirri (we care for each other) group, to produce wellbeing resources in Tiwi Language to benefit the community. Josie has a strong interest in community engagement, capacity building and knowledge translation.
