Candida Blackwell
Candida Blackwell is a Clinical Nurse Consultant in Suicide Prevention and Aftercare with the Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Service at North West Hospital and Health Service in Mount Isa, Queensland. She holds a Master of Mental Health Nursing and is a Credentialed Mental Health Nurse. Candida is currently working to implement a suicide prevention pathway of care within her health service and is the Clinical Coordinator for the Universal Aftercare Service in her region. She delivers workforce training to support safe and consistent responses to suicide risk across remote settings. In addition to her clinical role, she is actively engaged in local community suicide prevention initiatives through the Mount Isa Suicide Prevention Network. Her work focuses on workforce capability development and the translation of community-identified needs into health service implementation activities.
